Motherland - Spotkanie w Szczecinie z autorami powstającego komiksu

W czwartek 23 czerwca o godzinie 19:00 w szczecińskiej Trafostacji Sztuki (Świętego Ducha 4) odbędzie się spotkanie z Michaelem Rubenfeldem (tekst) i Jonathanem Rotsztainem (rysunki), którzy przedstawią 20 stronicowy preview swojego komiksu. Spotkanie poprowadzi Artur Wabik.
Wydarzenie poprowadzi Artur Wabik (Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Komiksowe).

Wstęp wolny - Zapraszamy!!!

Written by Michael Rubenfeld and illustrated by Jonathan Rotsztain (both Canadians and grandchildren of Polish Holocaust survivors) Motherland is an autobiographical narrative exploring a relationship to contemporary Poland and to inherited trauma. During the comic launch, the authors will discuss why they choose to advocate for a contemporary Jewish discourse based on healing and seeing Poland as not just the site of past horror but a space for contemporary forgiveness and understanding, as well as a positive setting for the future of Judaism. The event will feature a live reading of the fragments and an 20-page preview of the comic. The event will be led by Artur Wabik (Krakow Comic Arts Association).

Honary patronage over the event: Canadian Embassy in Poland. The project has been created thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This work was made possible with the generous support of Asylum Arts, the ROI Community, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto. We also want to thank our partners: The Trafo Center for Contemporary Arts in Szczecin, Nadaye Foundation and the Beit Krakow community.
